'A prosperous place to live and work' is one of Breckland Council's key priorities.  This has been partly implemented through its highly successful training programme, “Widen Your Horizons”.

Over 90% of the businesses in Breckland are small to medium sized, and therefore play an important role in the economic development of the district.  The businesses in Breckland are not only the wealth creators for the district, but also the employment providers.  A significant amount of the assistance offered and brokered by Breckland Council is aimed at helping these businesses to expand and create more jobs.  

Breckland’s key objective is:-

 “To help contribute towards the creation of a dynamic local rural economy with quality job opportunities, social inclusion and community development”

The “Widen Your Horizons” project is funded through Breckland’s Community Economic Regeneration programme, with funding from the EU Objective 2 fund.   The project has been running since October 2003 and has so far benefited approximately 2,000 people in the region, over a quarter of those participated in courses run by Crystal Clear Training.  We continue to work very closely with the ‘Widen Your Horizons’ team to provide business courses across the region.
